It’s not my favourite, though the building is quite beautiful. Mind you, I spent far too much time as a child in the Science Museum. Whenever we visited family in London we seemed to end up there. Partly cos my Dad (a Londoner) loved it. He & my brother both studied at Imperial College, just up the road. I have always been mesmerised by the long pendulum in the Science Museum, along with watching the beam engines when they set them running.
The one place I never got to in London is the Crossness Pumping Station. It’s a bit out (though I used to work not that far from it). Victorian engineering - built to last and elegant with it.

I don’t miss living in London, but the richness of culture, knowledge, history is quite impressive. I guess that goes for a lot of the UK.

I remember when I went to Vancouver they were so very proud of their history - some buildings dated back to Victorian times, people told me. I didn’t like to say that was almost modern by our standards, when we regularly do things like worship in 900+ year old churches. I think that’s why I get so annoyed by the apparent determination by our government to eradicate/cancel our rich history.

Glad you’re enjoying your visit - been lovely weather down here all day.
